We believe that children learn and develop through play. In keeping with this, we offer a broad range of activities within our setting including;
- small world play
- role play
- sand and water play
- small and large construction
- mark-making
- puzzles
- games
- large physical equipment (such as bikes, rockers, slides, stilts, balance beams, etc)
- open ended resources for imaginative play (boxes, crates, fabric, tubes, etc)
- malleable materials
- creative and craft materials
In addition, we offer short focused activities throughout the day which are adult-led: Circle Time, Storytime and Singing.
| 0745-0900 | AM Wrap Around Welcome children who attend wrap around care and enjoy breakfast. |
| 0900-0915 | Welcome & Registration We welcome all children at the start of the session. |
| 0915-1300 | Indoor & Outdoor Play Children have access to a range of fun and educational activities (as listed above). Key workers will work with children using their individual plans and observations. |
| 1030 | Snack We offer (at a small cost) a range of healthy snacks including fruit and vegetables. Children are welcome to bring their own, but this must be in keeping with our Health Eating Policy. |
| 1130-1145 | Tidy-Up Children are encouraged to help tidy the toys away, with staff support. |
| 1145-1155 | Circle Time This can include singing, stories, meditation and group games. |
| 1155-1200 | End of AM Session Children not attending the PM session put on coats, collect belongings, and are handed artwork and/or letters to take home. We reflect on what the children have enjoyed doing in the AM session. |
| 1200 | Lunch Children bring their own packed lunches in a labelled box/bag. |
| 1230-1245 | Welcome & Registration We welcome children attending the PM session. |
| 1245-1500 | Indoor & Outdoor Play / Walk As per AM session. We try to go for a walk (weather permitting) in our beautiful surroundings 2-3 times a week. |
| 1500-1515 | Tidy-Up Children are encouraged to help tidy the toys away, with staff support. |
| 1515-1525 | Circle Time This can include singing, stories and group games. |
| 1525-1530 | End of Session & Goodbyes Children put on their coats, collect their belongings and are handed artwork and/or letters to take home. We reflect on what the children have enjoyed doing and sing our goodbye song. |
| 1530-1730 | PM Wrap Around Children who attend wrap around care enjoy a light tea and free play. |
